Privacy Policy

HomeAI (“we”, “us”) is built local-first: the AI runs on a computer inside your property, and conversations with it stay there. This policy explains what little the cloud side of the product — aiagentichome.com, the owner portal — actually collects, why, and what we deliberately never collect.

The short version

  • Guest and household conversations never reach our cloud. Voice and chat are processed on the box in the building. We store no transcripts and no audio, and the box is designed not to retain raw guest voice either.
  • The cloud stores your account and your property's configuration — the things you type into the portal so your box can pull them.
  • No ad tracking, no analytics cookies, no data sales. The only cookies we set are the ones that keep you signed in.

What we collect, and why

Owner account

You sign in with Google. From Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture — nothing else, and we never see your Google password. We use this to create your account, secure your session, and know which properties are yours.

Beta access requests

Signing in while the product is in private beta requests beta access: we record your email address, your name, and where the request came from (e.g. the waitlist page) so we can review and approve requests by hand, and reach out when a spot opens. That is the entire record.

Property configuration

The portal stores what you configure for each property: its name and general settings, persona and voice choices, device layouts, house-knowledge you write for guests, and similar setup. Your box pulls this configuration to run the concierge.

Guest issue reports and requests

The public guidebook has a “Report an issue” button (and an “ask my host” button for optional add-on offers). When a guest chooses to use one, we store the short message they type and any contact detail they choose to add so the property owner can follow up, and we email that report to the owner. This is the only guest-initiated content the cloud holds: it's data the guest deliberately sends to their host — never a conversation transcript, voice audio, or anything captured passively. It's length-capped, is tied to the property (not to a guest identity we build), and the owner can mark it resolved. If a guest never taps those buttons, the cloud stores nothing about their stay.

Operational logs

We keep server logs of portal activity (e.g. sign-ins, configuration saves, box check-ins) attributed to the owner's account, to run the service, debug problems, and audit changes. Logs are designed not to contain secrets or guest content.

What we deliberately never store in the cloud

  • Guest or household conversations — no transcripts, no voice audio, no chat history. Reasoning happens on the box.
  • Raw secrets. Wi-Fi passwords, door codes, and API keys live only in your box's local secret store. The portal holds only vault:// references to them — placeholders that are resolved on your own hardware.
  • Camera footage or presence data.
  • Advertising or analytics identifiers. There are no third-party trackers, no advertising pixels, and no analytics cookies on this site.

The cloud opt-in (and its disclosure)

By default, AI reasoning is fully local. An owner may explicitly opt a property into cloud-API reasoning using their own provider keys. When that is enabled, the conversation text is sent to the owner's chosen provider (whose own policy then applies) — and a guest-facing disclosure is shown automatically and cannot be turned off while a cloud provider is active. We still don't receive or store those conversations.

Guest guidebook links

Owners can share a public guidebook link with guests. That page renders only the non-secret, guest-visible information the owner published (house facts, local tips, checkout details). It is built from an explicit allowlist of fields, so secrets like Wi-Fi passwords or door codes can never appear on it. Guests reading a guidebook are not tracked and no account is required. The one thing we do store is a report or request a guest chooses to send from that page — see Guest issue reports and requests above.

Service providers

  • Google — sign-in (OAuth). We receive the basic profile described above.
  • Resend — transactional email (e.g. an alert that your box went offline, or a guest's guidebook issue report forwarded to the property owner). Resend processes the recipient address and message content on our behalf; we don't send marketing email.
  • Google Cloud — hosting for the portal and its database, in the United States.

We do not sell or share personal information for advertising. Ever.

Cookies

We set only the cookies required to keep you signed in (authentication session cookies). There are no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click.

Data retention and deletion

Account and property configuration are kept while your account is active. You can delete your account yourself from Settings → Delete my account: it permanently removes your sign-in, profile, sessions, and — for any organization you solely own — that organization and all of its properties, box pairings, and guest reports. A shared organization that a co-owner still runs is kept; only your membership is removed, so a co-owner is never left stranded. After a deletion we retain only a record that a deletion happened (a timestamp and an opaque, non-identifying token) — never your email.

We also age data out automatically: expired sign-in sessions and tokens and spent device-pairing codes are purged on a schedule, and guest-reported issues (which may contain a contact detail a guest chose to share) are removed after a retention window rather than kept forever. A property owner can also erase an individual guest report on request at any time from the property's Guidebook tab. Prefer we handle it? Email hello@aiagentichome.com from the account's address. Data that only ever lived on your box is yours — deleting it is as simple as it should be, because we never had it.

Children

The portal is for property owners and operators and isn't directed at children under 13; we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll update this page as the product evolves and bump the date at the top. Material changes during the beta will also be flagged to signed-in owners in the portal.
